Well, I'm not used to
waxing autobiographically, but here I go anyway. I grew up in
Northeast Pennsylvania. I was a music lover ever since I can
remember. Played saxophone from 5th grade on, discovered guitar in
the early 80's Started with the bass, worked up to the 6 string
acoustic.
By 1986, I was half of the Jim and George Acoustic duo.
We played around a couple bars and restaurants before we went our separate
ways. Then I graduated college, got a job, lost it, got another, got
married, then quit my job for a new one.
I didn't play much then, until a buddy at my new job sparked
the fire in me. It took him years, but he somehow managed to coax
life back into my playing. I didn't feel that I knew enough, or was
solid enough to drive a show all by my self. He simply told me flat
out that I know all I need to know to get started, so just learn some
songs and sing 'em dammit! I took that to heart, and when I focused
on playing my tunes, my way, solo, I started making tremendous progress.
Now (9/5/2003) less than a year after I got serious about it, I have a
gig, a rig, and I'm on my way!
See you out there!
